    Hey there,

I've been trying to get my MythTV setup working for the past day and a half with limited luck. I am able to get the setup GUI to recognize the card and find my cable channels, but when I load up the frontend and hit 'Watch TV', I am confronted with a non-responsive, blank blue screen. Again, the card works with XawTV. Possibly I don't have the card configured right.

-MythTV detects the card as being a Hauppauge BT878
-The sticker on the tuner says WinTV 38101 Rev B410 with a Conexant Fusion 878A
-I'm pretty sure the card's name is a WinTV GO

    Thanks a lot,

    Me_Rock

what kind of video card do you have and what are your playback profile settings? How do you have the card congifured (v4L)? Most importantly, what do your frontend logs say when the error occurs.

-Video card - Basic Intel onboard...I don't know exactly
-The playback profile is default as far as I know
-The card is configured to use V4L
-The terminal threw out a lot of (insufficient resources for operation) errors

I can help you a lot better if you actually tell me what your playback profile settings are and post the contents of your logs (frontend and backend) at the time you have the problems. I don't at all remember the default settings, and I'm not going to look them up.

Have you tried scheduling a recording in myth and playing back that recording using mplayer or VLC? That will help narrow down if the problem is with recording (tuner settings) or if the problem is with your playback settings (Video card/xorg/playback profile settings). At this point, with the information you've given me, it could be either.
