I am trying to install Mythtv on my sue 11.2 machine and have come across a problem. I have managed ok with most of the backend setup, and scanned channels ok, but I havent a clue how to set the storage directory path. Whilst i have been using suse for a number of years now, I know nothing about command lines, terminals and directory paths.
Any help would be gratefully received.

In mythtv-setup, there is a 'Storage Group' option. Go into the 'Default' group, and add an entry for where you want to store recordings. Ideally, this should be on its own partition (or drive), and not in the root mount of that partition.

Thanks for your reply. I understand what you are talking about, but unfortunately I dont know how to make a new partition or then how to name the path to it.
    many thanks

After much experimentation I have got it to accept a path to my external drive. After doing that it asked me to run "mythfilldatabse". I did this in a terminal and now I seem to have gone back to square one. When I open the frontend all I get is a blue screen which tells me there is no Upnp backend found. When I go back to the backend setup I get another blue screen (instead of the grey setup screen with all the options) with 2 pages with data base setup. I seem to be going round in circles with this.
    Please can some one help.?
