Thread: new user install problems with FC6 and PVR-350

I'm new to both Linux and MythTV, trying to get my first install working. Using Jarod Wilson's HOWTO, everything goes well until I get to:

# cat /var/log/messages |grep "iTVC15 TV out"



where I get no response. I kept going, I was able to see the test pattern on my TV. I did the test capture and got some nice snow on the PC monitor, so I think it's working. But when I try to change channels on the card with:

# /usr/lib/ivtv/ptune-ui.pl &
# mplayer -vo xv /dev/video0

I get:

bash: /usr/lib/ivtv/ptune-ui.pl: No such file or directory

I'm sure there is some small step that I'm missing, but I've gone back over the list from the beginning and I'm not finding it.

Can anyone help set me back on the straight and narrow?

I don't think ptune-ui.pl is included in the ivtv distribution any longer.

You can probably change the channel to one you know works through the v4l-ctl application, which allows you to change many of the various parameters on your capture card(s) -- I don't know the exact parameter for viewing the current tuned channel or for changing it, but
