I've been trying for like 2 months with the lirc setup and I havn't had any luck. If anyone would help me with it. I'd appreciate it.

I've used wilson's Fedora guide without any problems. What have you done so far?

    Ok...
    1) Is your serial IR bought or homemade?
    2) What does your modprobe.conf look like
    3) Is the lircd daemon running
    4) Did you do the "Mylirc" shell script?

    That's a good start...

It's bought and it plugs into the USB ports of my computer. I can't find my modprobe.conf and yes it's running and no I didn't.

USB or serial? I'm just trying to double check. Can you tell us where you got it, so we can look up more information?

It's usually in the /etc directory (but I'm sure you've all ready checked there)

I guess Kubuntu does things differently. This site may give you some clues:

Yes, I have, and yes. Also.

"No such device" normally indicates that you don't have the right modules loaded.

Ok, I got the remote working but need to get it to be useful in myth. So what do I do to get myth to be able to use it?
