    Default How can I turn off live TV recording? – 12-20-2008,03:34 PM
    Hello all

    I have just installed a MythTV ver 0.21. I configured all things quickly, but I can't turn off a automatic function of playback recording.

    I don't want record all what i'm seing. I would like only watch TV and sometimes schedule some programs to record.
    I want to turn off live TV playback recording, but i have not idea how i can do that. It weighs down my PC and clutters my hard drive.

    I haven't found any information about it...

    Please help me.

    don't know if you can... You'd probably have to re-write the code

    MythTV is not a TV watching application. The developers coded MythTV to be a Timeshifting application. So the simple answer is, no you can't switch this feature off. You could add an entry to an external TV viewer (tvtime?) into your menu and watch using that.

    You could set up a recorded TV directory so everything buffered is in one tidy area.

    Set autoexpire for live recordings to 1 (or zero?) days maybe? Then it will take out the clutter every day.

    (Master be/fe) ASUS P5KPL IPC, E5400, KVR800D2N6K2/2G, 8500GT, (2)PVR-150, A180, ATSC-115, U10.04, MythTV 0.23-fixes.
