Default Power Outage Trouble

Hey guys, had a power outage the other day and ive noticed some problems with myth. Maily, the fact that all my shows no longer say they have been comerial flagged and also a larger number of artifacts on the screen when watching a show. Also, the duration of a show is dispayed as an outragous amount (like 8021 hours). is there any rebuild database command that could hlep? or does it look like a rebuild of myth?

sounds like a problem with the sql database, are you running XFS? I would try doing a disk scan and maybe a repair on the SQL database.

the sql command is first access the mythdatabase
mysql -uroot -p"yourpasword" mythconverg
then at the mysql> prompt

REPAIR TABLE tablename;

the table is probably recorded_program or recorded

A power outage while recording can really screw up your filesystem. A UPS is highly highly reccomended.

believe me, I know

I dont think it is the recordings that got screwed up when my recorded database got screwed up once all my recordings basically would play ok but wouldnt fastforward/skip ahead correctly and the time listing was totally f*cked up I also believe it cause playing problems as well since it does use the database for playing files.

If it was just a filesystem problem then i doubt that a bunch of recordings would have this problem, probably only 1, unless the filesystem problem corupted the sql databse, I have had that happen as well. Luckily i back up my SQL database everyday, about 40 MB per backup (gz compression) but it is nice to know I have a backup where I only lose 1 days recordings if something goes wrong.
