Help MythTVtalk.com by advertising us

Hello,

I am very happy as the board has only be open for few days now and we already have some active members I thank you all for that.

But in order to help MythTVtalk.com to grow even quicker, we have to advertise it. There is lots of way to do so: talking about it to your mythtv friends to make them join the board, adding link to Web sites which talk about MyhTV, Leaving msg in IRC, email signature, signature in other forums, etc...

It would be great if you could try to advertise MythTVtalk.com, but without being intrusive, NO SPAM or other unrelated solicitation will be tolerated. I mean there is no point to advertise the site on a hairdresser website or whateverelse... I am doing my best to advertise it, but alone it's not very easy

Here is the signature I use when I sent emails and also when posting on other linux related forums:

This small text seems to work well also as IRC leaving msg...

Anyway, it's just an idea/a suggestion If you have better ideas to help promoting the site, feel free to post them here.

I found this forum by browsing http://www.byopvr.com/displayarticle70.html but there is no link from mythtv.org or mythtv.info.
Why you do not ask them to add one?

I also believe that it would be good to have the forum mentionned on the mythtv.org and mythtv.info but I don't know if they will accept or not.
When I opened the forum around 10 days ago now, the first reaction of some dev was to take a piss at it as it was empty.
But a new born forum is always empty at the beginning, I never saw any forum opening with 268 members and 1.365 posts, have you?

That's why I thought that it could be better to wait the forum to be busier to ask if they would agree to add a link to it. I may be totally WRONG on this point...
But that's a vicious circle, I reckon. Without a link from them, it's hard to get the forum busy and without a busy forum, I don't know if they will accept to put a link.

If lots of person believe that I would contact them and ask already, I will do so, but if you know well a MythTV.org or mythtv.info you can ask him, perhaps it would help
too

Yep, that's not a bad idea.
I believe that he will add a link if mythtv.org does, anyway I will try to ask all of them, by the end of this week and we will see if that works
