Able to tune to standard broadcast cable channels using PVR-350, but cannot lock onto cable QAM-256 channels with DVB card.
    atscscan gives

    Code:

    azap of selected channels:

    Code:
    status 1f | signal 0000 | snr fd96 | ber 00000000 | unc 00000000 | FE_HAS_LOCK
    status 1f | signal 0000 | snr fda3 | ber 00000000 | unc 00000000 | FE_HAS_LOCK

same problem when scanning channels with mythtv (0.20), cannot get signal on DVB card though gets a lock.

    Any ideas?

    thanks

Many of those channels are probably encrypted. I had the same problem only worse. My atscscan spit out a couple hundred channels and I had to dig through them by hand. Essentially you tune each channel with azap, cat the output to an mpg file, and play the file to see what it is. You'll find some are unplayable which means they're encrypted. After determining what a channel is, rename it and create a channels.conf file that can be imported to Myth.

    Sample
    Code:
    [0065]:561000000:QAM_256:64:65:101
    becomes
    Code:
    STATIONNAME:561000000:QAM_256:64:65:101
That was the only way I could get QAM to work.

This is the item that caches my eye.

    status 1f | signal 0000 | snr fd96 | ber 00000000 | unc 00000000 | FE_HAS_LOCK
    status 1f | signal 0000 | snr fda3 | ber 00000000 | unc 00000000 | FE_HAS_LOCK
The signal 0000 indicates NO signal. However status 1f in first column is correct, and the snr is also ok.
Use the dtvsignal utility to get a better look at your cable signal levels. See my webpage: http://wa6rzw.homelinux.net/myth/mythtv_links.html
it may be of some help.
